Great four day break
Review by: Paul Foster, Avr 8 2019 5:25AM
Stayed at Le Campagnard while visiting the area. Teresa & Alan Bretman made us very welcome and helped with our sightseeing issues. All four of us (two rooms) slept very well, the rooms have all you need. We enjoyed the breakfast and we also ate in on two occasions and Teresa is a great chef.
Overall very good and great value.

Great place to stay!

I've stayed with Alan & Teresa twice now. The first time I was on my own and the second time I came with my family. The two hosts were just brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble. They provided advice on many, many things French, whilst I was there and were really flexible with the lovely meals as I am a fussy eater. My room was fresh, clean and very comfortable with all the amenities provided. On my visit with the family we had a family room which again was excellent with everything we needed. Alan and Teresa treated us if they had known us for years and we all appreciated that. We are planning another trip to that part of France and will try and spend at least one night with Alan and Teresa.
Beautiful House & Wonderful Hosts.

I stayed with Alan & Terry at their lovely house in idyllic Babaudus.
The breakfast and evening meal were sumptuous, my room very comfortable and nothing was too much trouble for the kind hosts.
This is the place to stay for a long or short break, give it a try!

Directions

1. Depart from Rochechouart and follow the road towards La Rochefoucauld.
2. Upon reaching the bottom of the hill, make a right turn towards Babaudus. Please note that this road is quite narrow and has numerous sharp bends.
3. As you proceed, you will notice the Castle situated on your right.
4. After covering a distance of 500 meters, you will come across an ancient Gallo-Roman Arch on your right-hand side.
5. Another 400 meters ahead, you will encounter an old Gothic bridge that needs to be crossed.
6. Continue along this road as it ascends a hill with several tight turns. Once you reach the top, the road will remain level for approximately 300 meters until it intersects with another road running from left to right.
7. Take a right turn at the intersection and continue for about 100 meters until you spot the sign indicating the entrance to Babaudus. After this, make the second left turn onto Grand Rue de Babaudus.
8. The road will bend to the right and then to the left. Le Campagnard, our first building, will be located on your left-hand side. Look for our Reception sign and Car Park, which can be accessed via the next left turn.
