The Quinta dAlagoa is situated in the stunning countryside of Carrazedo de Montenegro near the Padrela mountains. Spanning over 70 hectares (about 170 acres) of farmland and woodland, the estate primarily cultivates chestnut, olive, and vine crops.

All produce is grown organically and holds certification from SOCERT, the Portuguese Organic Quality Control entity. Amidst the fields and woods, you will find farm buildings of exceptional historical and cultural significance, showcasing rustic architecture at its finest.

The old farmhouse, laborers' lodgings, barn, and other outbuildings have been meticulously restored and transformed into an agrotourism destination. The farm is proud to be a member of TER (Turismo no Espaço Rural – Rural Tourism Association).

At the heart of the expansive estate lie the farm buildings, which have been proposed for inclusion as Listed Buildings due to their historical and cultural value. The Casa dos Moços, Casa das Mulheres, Coberto da Nora, and Casa do Caseiro offer a glimpse into the daily life of the past and exemplify traditional rustic architecture.

The Lagar do Azeite and Lagar do Vinho have been carefully restored to their original working order. The Casa da Quinta boasts six double bedrooms, each with an en suite bathroom. The stable has been transformed into a spacious meeting and reunion room for larger groups.

In addition to the main crops of vine (3 hectares), olive (16 hectares), and chestnut (23 hectares), Quinta D’Alagoa also cultivates vegetables, orchards, and 10 hectares of Lameiro (water meadows). The estate encompasses oak, poplar, and pine woods.

Since 2001, the farm has embraced organic farming methods, certified by SOCERT. Fertilization does not involve artificial chemicals, and the use of pesticides or herbicides is strictly avoided. The cattle are exclusively fed with natural fodder.

Within the expansive grounds of the farm, an extensive network of approximately 15 kilometers of pathways awaits your exploration. These paths wind through lush fields, picturesque pastures, and enchanting woods, offering the choice to stroll, cycle (reservation required), or, starting from next summer, even ride on horseback. As you traverse this diverse landscape, you will encounter farmland, grazing fields, serene chestnut groves, and captivating forests.

Quinta D’Alagoa goes beyond the farm's boundaries, organizing thrilling mountain bike excursions that take you through nearby villages and allow you to discover national heritage monuments.
