Welcome to the House of Cabourne, a modern and inviting retreat nestled in the stunning gorges of the Allier. Completely renovated in 2013, this charming house offers a warm and contemporary atmosphere all year round. Located in the picturesque village of Saint-Privat-d'Allier, in the beautiful south of Auvergne, we are just 18 minutes from Le Puy-en-Velay, making us the perfect base for your weekend getaway.

At the House of Cabourne, we pride ourselves on offering a range of activities to suit every taste. With 9 hiking trails to choose from, including being situated on the first stage of the famous Camino de Santiago and being close to the GR 40 and GR Gorges de l'Allier, outdoor enthusiasts will be in their element. For those seeking an adrenaline rush, nearby options include rafting, canyoning, mountain biking (bikes are available for rent on-site), sand yachting, pendulum jumping, horseback riding, and muscle relaxation.

Even if the weather doesn't cooperate, we have you covered with a variety of indoor activities. Enjoy a game of bowling or laser tag, take a dip in the indoor swimming pool or aquatic leisure center, or explore the rich cultural heritage of the region by visiting monuments such as the Castle of Lafayette, Castle de Polignac, and the UNESCO World Heritage-listed old town of Le Puy-en-Velay.

Directions

To get to Saint-Privat-Allier, follow RN 88 from Lyon or Saint-Etienne or Le Puy-en-Velay. Alternatively, you can take A75 from Clermont-Ferrand or Montpellier and exit at Saint-Chely-dApcher/Saugues/Saint-Privat. If you prefer to travel by train, you can take the Le-Puy-en-Velay train to the Monistrol-Allier railway station. For air travel, there is a daily flight between Paris and Le Puy-en-Velay at the Puy-Loudes Aerodrome, operated by Hex Company Air. You can also access Saint-Privat-Allier by flying to Clermont-Ferrand, Lyon Saint-Exuperie, or Saint-Etienne.
