Description:

Description for B&B:

This charming village is situated on the side of a hill, offering breathtaking views of the OGNON valley. It is a paradise for fishermen and has managed to maintain its old-world charm with its historic sites.

The village is divided into two parts - "Bourg en haut" and "Bourg en bas". The former, formerly known as "bourg castral", is home to the castle, the church with its unique "clocher comtois" (Comtois bell tower), and the Grammont Hospital. The latter, "Bourg en bas", showcases remnants of a prosperous era with the mill, weaving mill, and the old railway station, while the old forges and their locks stand further away.

Dating back to the late 15th century, this house is located in the heart of the city, close to shops and a mere 50 meters from the castle. However, it is nestled in the upper part of a terrace garden-park, offering a splendid view of the lower part of the city and the surrounding landscape.

Pascal and Philippe have poured their energy into restoring this house, creating a welcoming space for guests to enjoy pleasant moments in their company.

The thick walls constructed with large lime-seamed stones keep the house cool, while the oaken ceilings and carefully selected furniture create a warm and peaceful atmosphere inside.

The house features a spacious drawing-room and music-room, separated from the dining room by a traditional fireplace. Here, guests can relax amidst two grand pianos and a Flemish harpsichord.

On the second floor, there are two double bedrooms and one single bedroom, all adorned with antique furnishings and tasteful decorations. These rooms are located under an impressive oaken frame.

The large red room is a double room with an old 140 cm wide bed. It includes a lavatory with a washbasin and WC.

Adjacent to the red room is the blue room, also a double room with an old 130 cm wide bed. If needed, it can be connected to the red room via access to the red room's lavatory.

The yellow room is a cozy single room with a 110 cm wide "boat-bed".

On the first floor, there is a bathroom with a bath shower, washbasin, and WC, which is available for the three rooms.

Guests have access to various amenities including the drawing-room, music-room, TV lounge, fully equipped kitchen, terrace balcony, garden, and park with a swimming pool (available during the summer).

Notable attractions to visit in the area include the church, parsonage, XVIIIth-century town-hall, Renaissance Castle, and the Grammont Hospital with its XVIIIth-century pharmacy.

Guided tours of the city and the pharmacy are also available.

For outdoor activities, guests can indulge in canoeing, kayaking, golfing, walking, horse-riding, mountain biking, exploring castles, fishing, and swimming.
