Description:

Description for B&B:

What is a "mas"?

In Provence, a "mas" refers to a farmhouse that is strategically positioned facing South to shield it from the Mistral, a powerful wind that blows through the Rhône river valley. These houses lack openings on the North side and have narrow doors and windows to guard against the scorching heat of summer and the chilling cold of winter. It's important to note that not all "mas" are farmhouses, as the grander ones, typically constructed by the Bourgeois, are known as Bastides.

A "mas de ville" aims to recreate the atmosphere of a farmhouse, offering guests a glimpse into the rustic Provençal lifestyle.
