Description:

Description for B&B:

The two rooms are separate from our main house and have their own entrance. Each room has its own toilet and shower. The beds are 160x200 cm in size. Breakfast can be enjoyed on the terrace overlooking the swimming pool or in the shared conservatory. The rooms are equipped with TNT (cable) flat-screen TVs and WiFi access is available. Private parking is provided.

Located in the charming village of Esnandes in the Charente-Maritime region, our house is just a ten-minute drive from La Rochelle and the Ile de Ré. Esnandes is situated on the edge of the beautiful Marais Poitevin, also known as Green Venice. Our house is in the heart of the village, only two kilometers from the sea. You will love the peaceful and tranquil atmosphere of the area. The village itself is picturesque, with narrow streets lined with holy-hocks and delightful cream-colored houses. The fortified church, dating back to the 12th century, adds to the architectural beauty of the village. Adjacent to the church is the Mytiliculture Museum, where you can learn about the history of mussel farming, as Esnandes used to be a major center for cultivating Moules de Bouchot.

Esnandes is also located on the Bay of Aiguillon, with La Rochelle to the south and the Vendée beaches to the north. The bay is a natural reserve for migratory birds, making it a paradise for birdwatchers. The L.P.O (ornithological society) organizes guided walks for a detailed exploration of this natural environment and its incredible bird life.

Despite being close to popular tourist destinations like La Rochelle and the Ile de Ré, Esnandes has managed to maintain its authentic charm as a seaside village in Charentes. Even during the tourist season, the village remains peaceful and serene, offering a perfect place to relax while still being within reach of La Rochelle, the Ile de Ré, and the Marais Poitevin.

You can enjoy cycling along the coastal pathway that surrounds the Bay of Aiguillon, and the impressive Ile de Ré bridge is less than half an hour away. A walk from the house to Pointe Saint-Clément will reward you with a panoramic view of the bay and the opportunity to admire the colorful carrelets (fishing cabins) that are characteristic of this part of the Atlantic coast.

If you're longing for golden beaches, the Vendée coast, including Les Sables-d'Olonne and La Tranche sur Mer, is less than a 45-minute drive away.
