Description for B&B:

Built in the late 17th century by the De Battisti family, this house stood out as the sole Patrician-style residence in the district. Throughout the centuries, it became a favored destination for distinguished individuals, including Count De Boissieux, Count de Marbeuf, Viscount de Barin, and the notable Sir Gilbert Elliot, viceroy of Corsica.

In the 19th century, the house underwent a transformation into a luxurious hotel, hosting illustrious guests like Gustave de Flaubert, Joseph Multedo, the Duc of Orleans, and Prosper Mérimée. After the hotel's closure, this magnificent establishment remained abandoned for many years.

Today, after undergoing a thorough renovation by our family, the house has been rejuvenated into a guest house named A Casa Reale, offering a tranquil oasis in the heart of the city. You will have access to a spacious terrace, providing breathtaking views of the nearby sea and dock. The 70 square meter living room features an exquisite bookshelf, a cozy relaxation area for watching television or playing games, and a remarkable grand piano from a Prussian factory dating back to 1904, which was once gifted to King Leopold of Belgium.

The restoration of this house has been meticulously carried out, preserving its authentic soul and the style of the original patrician residence. Every aspect, from the selection of craftsmen to the choice of materials, has aimed to recreate a picturesque and unique atmosphere. Handmade terracotta tiles, meticulously restored moldings by a master plasterer, and century-old cement tiles have been incorporated, seamlessly blending modern and antique furniture in perfect harmony.
