Description for B&B:

Situated at the junction of the Yonne river and the Canal du Nivernais, the village of Mailly-la-Ville boasts a unique location perfect for boating, canoeing, fishing, swimming, or simply taking a leisurely stroll. The river and canal are major attractions for tourists, especially since the village is adjacent to the picturesque "Les Coûtas" coasts, which were once covered with vineyards but disappeared in the early 20th century. These coasts offer breathtaking views that can be accessed from paths originating in the village center.

Perched above one of the locks of the Canal du Nivernais, there are three guest rooms available on the first floor of a charming 17th-century building, separate from the owners' residence. On the ground floor, a relaxation area awaits, complete with a fully equipped kitchen for your convenience. You have the option to dine onsite or prepare your own meals.

Additionally, there is a shared inner courtyard that you can access, which belongs to the owners' dwelling. The guest rooms can accommodate a total of eight people, and if all three bedrooms are booked simultaneously, they can be transformed into guest houses.

The guest rooms, known as "Les Coûtas," are open year-round for visitors.

One of the guest rooms, called the Chambre du Père Leleu, provides a privileged view of the Canal du Nivernais lock and the Yonne River. This family suite allows you to fully appreciate its exceptional location. The room's name pays homage to a local legend, Father Leleu. He was a former Communard who settled in the nearby commune of Saint-Moré by chance in 1887. After serving as a soldier, he made his home in a cave overlooking the Cure, Roche Percee. Father Leleu explored the caves and discovered numerous prehistoric artifacts. He utilized his troglodyte living environment, giving tours of his "apartments" and showcasing live vipers. In 1913, his body was found inside his cave under mysterious circumstances, leaving behind a lingering legend. Your stay here could be an opportunity to follow in the footsteps of Father Leleu.

The family suite consists of two rooms, one with a double bed and the other with two bunk beds. It also includes a private bathroom and a separate toilet. The suite is equipped with running water, and if needed, modifications can be made for children under six years old. The double bed is 140 cm wide, while the single bunk beds are 90 cm wide. The bedroom features two desks and two storage cabinets, and there is electrical heating available. The shower room is equipped with a shower, washbasin, heated towel rail, and a hairdryer.
