Description:

Description for B&B:

We are situated in Mesland, a charming and picturesque village on the northern bank of the Loire River, nestled between Blois and Amboise. Mesland is a notable stop along the renowned Loire Valley wine route and is conveniently located near the main châteaux.

This historic wine estate was built in the mid-19th century and features a grand mansion from 1846, a serene park adorned with ancient trees, and the former stable and wine production facility. The vineyard's last harvest took place in the Clos in 1955.

For relaxation and rejuvenation between castle visits, wine tastings, walking tours, and bike tours, guests can enjoy the 14-meter swimming pool and its comfortable deckchairs.

The Loire Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage site, offers visitors breathtaking landscapes, including the untamed Loire River, expansive forests, and majestic Royal Castles.

Mesland, our delightful village, is situated on the Wine Road and is enveloped by vineyards. It was originally founded as a Priory in the 12th century by monks from the Marmoutier Abbey, and the Notre-Dame church still stands as a testament to its history. Mesland has even lent its name to the "Touraine-Mesland" category of Loire Valley wines, which guests can taste directly from the producers.

The Clos Sainte-Marie is ideally positioned near some of the most renowned castles in the Loire Valley, including Château de Chaumont sur Loire with its international garden festival (7 km), Château d'Amboise and the Clos Lucé, once home to Leonardo Da Vinci (19 km), Château de Blois (23 km), Château de Chenonceau (30 km), Château de Cheverny (35 km), and Château de Chambord (44 km). We highly recommend the Michelin green guide "Castles of the Loire" for exploring the region.

Families with children will find a plethora of activities in the area, such as mini-castles in Amboise (20 km), the Loire Valley Aquarium in Lussault-sur-Loire (23 km), "Lulu Parc" for the little ones in Rochecorbon (36 km), the Beaumarchais animal reserve and its "safari train" in Autrèche (11 km), and the Beauval Zoo with over 4000 animals in Saint-Aignan (40 km).

In addition to castle visits, the region offers a wide range of activities, including wine tastings (we are happy to recommend local producers), hot air balloon rides over the Loire River and the castles, boat tours to explore the Loire, various walking and biking tours (we can assist with bike rentals), and horse riding at the Centre équestre du Val de Loire (16 km).

Golf enthusiasts will find several greens in the region, including Golf de la Carte (18-hole) just 10 km away, Golf de Fleuray-Amboise (9-hole) also 10 km away, and Golf du Château de Cheverny (18-hole, spanning over 6 km) at a distance of 35 km.
