Description:

Description for B&B:

Welcome to our guest room at the Old Castle, located in the heart of the Loire Valley. We are situated facing the beautiful Chaumont-sur-Loire castle and its garden festival. Our location in the village of Onzain provides easy access to nearby attractions such as Blois, Amboise, Chenonceau, Chambord, and Tours.

Whether you prefer to travel by train or car, reaching the capital city of Paris is a breeze, taking less than two hours. Onzain station is conveniently serviced by the SNCF Paris-Tours line, offering multiple transfers throughout the day.

Our guest room is actually a spacious suite, consisting of four rooms and a private terrace. This 70 m2 suite is located in the historic wing of the building, on a wall Talut that is over 500 years old and 1.20 meters thick. The floor was rebuilt in the nineteenth century and completely renovated in 2010. You will have complete independence with your own private entrance.

On the left side of the suite, you will find a room adorned with historical artifacts and remnants of the old castle. This is where breakfast will be served in case of inclement weather. Climbing the stairs will lead you to the main room, which is flooded with natural light from its four openings on both sides. This room exceeds 25 m2 in size.

On the moat side, a stone staircase provides access to the suite, along with a small covered terrace nestled against the remnants of a fourteenth-century tower. Breakfast can be enjoyed on this terrace when the weather permits.

The large master bedroom features a comfortable 180-bed or two 90 cm beds. There is also a day bed (real bed 90 cm) that can potentially accommodate a child.

On the courtyard side, there is an office with a fireplace and TV, equipped with a 90 cm bed (a second one is available upon request).

On the moat side, a small living room leads to a dressing room and a bathroom with toilet and bath. A crib and baby equipment can be provided upon request.

Outside, our park, large terrace (220m2), and secure moat await your leisurely walks. Feel free to use the boat to get a closer look at the swans and ducks that adorn the 5000 m2 of water. Please note that our two dogs, Willow and Weston, guard the moat and we kindly request that our guests do not bring their four-legged friends.

We are approved by "Gîtes de France" with a rating of 3 ears and our guest room is open year-round by reservation.

During the season, the Association for moats "The Arts of Helion" organizes concerts and shows. If you are our guests on a day of performance, you will be our special guests.

If any furniture in your room catches your eye, it is possible to purchase it from the Museum-Gallery of the Old Castle.

Appréciations pour Les Douves, Onzain:

Sejour très réussi!
Review by: Exbrayat, Juin 30 2012 12:22PM
