The area is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts, with an extensive network of footpaths that traverse open countryside and densely wooded hills and river valleys. It is perfect for activities such as walking, running, cycling, bird-watching, photography, drawing, and painting.

In addition to its natural beauty, the local area is rich in history and culture, with numerous monuments, churches, chapels, and medieval villages to explore. Ploerdut village itself features a beautiful medieval church and is home to a Boulangerie, crêperie, two friendly bars, an eatery, and a self-service shop, all within walking distance of the house.

Within a short drive, you'll find a multitude of interesting places to visit, including the mysterious Chapelle St. Barbe, the historic town of Guemene Sur Scorff, and the ancient Fôret de Quenecan. The larger city of Pontivy, situated on the Nantes-Brest Canal, is also within easy reach. Nearby cities/towns of interest include Vannes, Josselin, Pont-Aven, Concarneau, Quimper, and Carnac.

For those seeking outdoor activities, the stunning lake resorts of Priziac, Langoelan, and Lac Guerledan offer beaches, safe swimming, and water sports. The picturesque coastline and sandy beaches of Southern Morbihan are also just a short drive away.

The traditional Breton stone longere has been fully renovated while retaining its unique character features, such as exposed beams, wooden floors, a stone fireplace, and French doors.

The ground floor features a fully fitted, modern kitchen equipped with everything you need, a spacious dining room, and a cozy lounge with comfortable sofas, a TV/DVD, and a selection of DVDs, CDs, books, and board games. French doors open out to the garden and sun terrace, providing scenic views and easy access for outdoor dining and relaxation.

The first floor boasts three beautifully decorated bedrooms, each with its own ensuite bathroom. Two bedrooms feature double beds, while the third has two single beds. There is also a sofa bed and the option to set up fold-away beds if needed. All bedrooms offer magnificent views of the garden and surrounding countryside.

MiKa-GaLe is well-insulated and has central heating throughout, ensuring a comfortable stay in any season. The large garden offers separate areas, including quiet lawned areas under old apple trees and space for summer barbecues. Children will love the extensive and enclosed garden, which provides plenty of safe and open areas to run, play, and explore. The property also includes an orchard with apple, pear, plum, and apricot trees, and guests are welcome to enjoy the delicious fruits. On-site private parking is available.

Rates for MiKa-GaLe are based on a Saturday change-over day, with weekly bookings preferred. However, shorter stays can be arranged with the owners. Rates include a welcome basket of local goodies, all linen and towels, heating, gas, electricity, logs for the wood-burner during the winter season, a "meet and greet" by the property manager, and end of stay cleaning. Directions

The airports in Brittany, listed in order of proximity, are Lorient, St. Brieuc, Dinard, Brest, Rennes. From any of these airports, you can then drive to the house.

If you prefer to travel by train, there are options from Paris to Rennes, Vannes, and Lorient. From any of these train stations, you can also drive to the house.

The drive from Paris airports to the house takes approximately 5 hours on the motorway, with a toll of around 25 Euros.

If you are arriving by ferry, the nearest ports are Roscoff (1.5 hours away), St. Malo (2 hours away), Caen (3 hours away), and Cherbourg (4 hours away).

To easily navigate to the house, you can simply enter "Poulmarvezen" into your GPS, and it will guide you straight to the front gate.
