Located on the banks of the river Vienne in the captivating CHARENTE region, Confolens is surrounded by a landscape adorned with oak trees and granite formations, offering a picturesque setting filled with rivers and wooded valleys. This area is renowned for its exceptional natural beauty, attracting photographers and artists alike. The climate here rivals that of the South of France, creating the perfect conditions for exploring the miles of unspoilt countryside through leisurely walks and bike rides.

Conveniently situated 60-70 km from the Limoges, Poitiers, and Angouleme airports, Confolens is a medieval town brimming with charming cafes, bars, bakeries, butchers, tobacco shops, general stores, and pharmacies. Our accommodation consists of three spacious double bedrooms and one family suite, all tastefully renovated to provide a comfortable and luxurious stay. Each room offers a private en-suite bathroom and is equipped with central heating. Enjoy uninterrupted views of the river from every room, and start your day with breakfast in our kitchen/dining room or on the sun terrace. Additionally, our garden provides direct access to the river, allowing you to immerse yourself in the tranquil surroundings.

For your convenience, our fully equipped kitchen is available for making hot drinks and preparing picnics, ensuring that you have everything you need for a delightful outing. Our large south facing garden, reminiscent of a park, offers a private oasis where you can relax and unwind. We are also excited to announce that we are in the process of completing a boules court, which will be available for your enjoyment during the summer months. The garden seamlessly leads to the riverside, offering a serene escape.

Directions

To travel from the northern part of France towards the south, start by heading towards Poitiers. Follow the N10 road towards Angouleme until you reach Vivonne. At Vivonne, make a right turn towards the east onto D742, which will lead you to Gencay. From Gencay, continue your journey by taking the D741 road towards Pressac. Once you reach Pressac, switch to D948 road that will guide you to Confolens. Upon arriving in Confolens, you will come across a new bridge, cross it and proceed through town following the one-way route. Eventually, take a left turn onto Pont Vieux Fontorse. You will find us at the end of the old bridge, second building on the left.
