Description for B&B:

Welcome! We are delighted to have you here. A vacation is meant to break away from the mundane, and holidays provide the opportunity for fresh ideas. We invite you to spend your holidays in our serene and tranquil surroundings. Take advantage of the numerous opportunities that this stunning region has to offer. Whether you come for hiking, alone or with your family, to explore the area by bike or motorcycle, or simply to enjoy some well-deserved peace and solitude... Grange d'Anjeux offers a versatile range of options to cater to everyone's recreational needs. Regardless of your interests or requirements, you can have a fantastic holiday or a long weekend with us.

Anjeux is located 5 km west of Saint-Loup-sur-Semouse and approximately 30 km north of the city of Vesoul. Situated at an elevation of 242 m, the village is nestled in the northernmost part of the department, in the Chanois stream valley, to the west of the Planey low ground, at the edge of the Vosges plateau.

Covering an area of 8.71 km², the commune boasts a slightly hilly landscape on the border of the Vosges. To the east lies the Planey low ground, which originates from a karst source and flows approximately 7 km southward into the Semouse river. The valley floor averages around 235 m in altitude and is about one kilometer wide. In the Anjeux region, the Planey stream is joined by the influxes of Dorgeon and Chanois. The eastern boundary is demarcated by the hillock of the Fays forest, reaching the highest point of Anjeux at 303 m. This forms the watershed in the Semouse valley.

In the northwest, the commune extends into the Chanois stream valley and the hills near Haute de Calenne and Charmot, reaching an altitude of around 260 m. The northern boundary lies within the La Levue forest.

Neighboring towns of Anjeux include Dampvalley-Saint-Pancras and Cuve to the north, Girefontaine to the west, La Pisseure, Plainemont, and Jasney to the south, and Bouligney and Saint-Loup-sur-Semouse to the east.

The region has been inhabited since Roman times. In the Middle Ages, Anjeux was part of the Free County of Burgundy. Evidence of a ruling authority can be traced back to 1271, with Anjeux serving as its center. Over time, it became partly dependent on the Luxeil-les-Bains abbey and partially on the Faucogney lords. Following the Treaty of Nijmegen in 1678, Anjeux became part of Franche-Comté, under French rule.

The Church of Anjeux, built in the flamboyant Gothic style, dates back to the 15th and 16th centuries and is classified as a historical monument. The 19th-century wash house is also worth a visit. South of the road from Anjeux to Bouligney, towards the Planey low ground, you can find some remnants of the La Sarrasinère castle, nestled amidst a small grove.

One of the major tourist attractions is the Planey source. Depending on the weather, it displays a mesmerizing array of blue and green hues, creating a truly captivating sight.
