Description:

Description for B&B:

If you're in search of a new home, planning a peaceful getaway, or just passing through, Les Bruyeres at Verteuil sur Charente offers an unbeatable location, top-notch facilities, and high-quality accommodation. This business is currently for sale, so please contact the owners for more information.

As you drive through the picturesque Charente countryside, with its fields of sunflowers and sweetcorn, you may stumble upon the charming village of Verteuil, just five minutes south of the bustling market town of Ruffec. The village is surrounded by the river Charente, and the impressive 15th-century chateau overlooks the tranquil setting. In addition to the beautiful scenery, Verteuil offers a variety of amenities, including three cafe/bars, two restaurants, bakers, butchers, a tabac/general store, and a pharmacy.

Upon entering through the large old farm gates, you will find yourself in a private, high-walled courtyard adorned with balconies and stunning hanging baskets and flower arrangements during the summer months. At the back of the courtyard, there is an open barn with secure, covered parking for up to six cars.

Our accommodation consists of three spacious, en suite bedrooms, as well as a communal kitchen dining area, all located in a converted barn that still retains its original features, such as exposed beams and dressed Charantaise stone. All rooms are equipped with central heating.

Each of the three bedrooms features its own en suite bathroom with a shower, hand washbasin, and toilet. Additionally, each room offers ample wardrobe and drawer storage, English to French electric adapters, a hairdryer, and a radio/CD alarm. Rooms are serviced daily, and towel changes are available upon request. Shampoo, shower gel, and soap are provided for your convenience. If needed, we can also provide a baby's cot or a supplementary camp bed in any of the rooms.

The ground floor family room includes a double bed, two wardrobes, and a sitting area with easy chairs, a coffee table, and a sofa bed that converts into a double bed for families. On the first floor, there are two double rooms, one with a double and single bed, and the other with a double bed. Both rooms feature a dressing table, easy chairs, and built-in wardrobes.

To address a common concern we've encountered during our own travels, we have incorporated a fully fitted kitchen exclusively for our guests' use. The kitchen is equipped with a four-ring electric hob and oven, a microwave oven, a fridge, a kettle, a coffee percolator, a slow cooker, a toaster, a steamer, a full set of pots, pans, casseroles, and utensils, as well as crockery, glasses, and cutlery. The dining table can seat up to eight people. Feel free to help yourself to complimentary tea and coffee at any time. In this area, you'll also find an English TV with all the FreeView channels, a wide selection of board games and videos, and information on local attractions and dining options. WiFi internet access is available in all rooms.

We also provide a separate laundry area with washing, drying, and ironing facilities should you require them.

If you're house hunting, we are more than happy to share our knowledge and answer any questions you may have about the buying and renovating process or integrating into French life, including topics such as health, taxes, and French language courses. If you're simply looking for a relaxing break, we are here to offer advice on local attractions and places to visit.

From the kitchen, French doors lead out to the east-facing sun terrace, where a covered gazebo allows you to enjoy breakfast in the morning sunshine during the summer months. The lawned garden features a pergola walkway on three sides and enjoys sunlight from early morning until late afternoon.

Appréciations pour Les Bruyeres, Verteuil sur Charente:

TR3 recalcitrante..!!!!
Review by: jean Marie, Juil 10 2018 5:07PM
Excellente adresse
Lovely !

My husband and I stayed here for 3 days while looking for a house to buy Fabulous location overlooking the Charente. To have a full kitchen at ones disposal in a B&B is rare and very much appreciated. We were given lots of useful information regarding the area and before we left had bought a house in the village. Thank you Adam and Jan for such an enjoyable comfortable stay.

Unobtrusive hosts Jan and Adam were welcoming, friendly and informative. A relaxed and laid-back manner is the signature of their business. On-site parking was important to us as was the proximity of the property to the attractive centre of Verteuil. A three or four minute walk across two little bridges spanning the Charente river and you're there! Our accommodation was bright, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Many guests return to Les Bruyeres time and again and my wife and I will be following suit. Highly recommended.
parfait !
